Sheri Brown is a Seattle-based performer who discovered butoh dance at the turn of the millenium. Sheri’s intuitive sense of butoh is grounded in study with well-over a dozen butoh masters from around the globe, as well as years of practice as a mathematics teacher. Deriving from a theater and then mime background, moving through the streets and across the globe, Sheri's cross-pollination of experiences and perspectives informs her work individually as well as collectively as Artistic/Programs Director of the Seattle based DAIPANbutoh Collective (www.diapanbutoh.com).
Recent choreographic expression, "Divided by Zero" debuted at Velocity Dance Theatre, Clackamus College, and the Seattle Center in 2012, and, in 2013 lives on at the TK in Pioneer Square, at Inscape in the International District, and beyond. Sheri is aslo excited to announce her current major project with seven other of Diego Pinon's long-term students develop, under Diego's direction, "Marrow Within Madness" at the Headwaters Theater inPortland, Oregon April 19 & 20.
